This is the last phase of a two-phase radio system upgrade for the Police, Fire and Public Works departments. The current Motorola radios have reached the end of manufacturer support cycle. As the radios begin to fail, Motorola will no longer be able to repair or provide parts to maintain the equipment. This pricing with Motorola is in effect until March 2024. The budgeted amount shown is for year two of a two-year replacement process.
