Authorize the City Manager to finalize and execute a contract with Data Transfer Solutions, LLC, to prepare a pavement assessment in the amount of $225,992.00.
Body
The City of Mesquite assessed the condition of City street and alley pavement in 2017 using data collected from Data Transfer Solutions, LLC. The City budgeted funding to update the City street and alley paving conditions in 2024.
The City has an executed Master Interlocal Purchasing Agreement with the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) to purchase certain products and services through the North Texas SHARE program. A recent Request for Qualifications was solicited through the SHARE program on February 24, 2023, for pavement analysis services. Staff reviewed the five contracts and reselected Data Transfer Solutions, LLC.
This contract will employ the photographic and assessment technology and will result in every City street and alley (with residential rear-access) being photographed, assessed and rated. There are 1,259 lane-miles of streets and 222 miles of alleys. The assessment data will be in a format that can be imported into the City’s existing pavement database.
Financial Implications
Funding for this contract was budgeted in the Pavement Preservation project with Certificate of Obligation (CO) bond funds.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends the City Manager be authorized to finalize and execute a contract with Data Transfer Solutions, LLC.
