Authorize the City Manager to finalize and execute a Reimbursement Grant Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Aviation Division, for the replacement of the Mesquite Metro Airport’s Automated Weather Observation System, with a not to exceed amount of $166,666.66.

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Aviation Division is providing financial assistance for the Mesquite Metro Airport to replace the Automated Observation System. The existing system is 22 years old and is need of replacement. This equipment provides vital information to pilots regarding the weather as it is occurring at the airport.
Financial Implications
The Airport Capital Budget for FY 2025 includes the necessary funds for the City’s portion of the project. This is a 90/10 grant with the State reimbursing up to $150,000.00.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends the City Manager be authorized to finalize and execute a Reimbursement Grant Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Aviation Division.
