The Commercial Driver License (CDL) Driving Simulator is a new addition and will provide training for employees in the Solid Waste and Equipment Services Divisions whose position requires a CDL. The simulator will allow the driver to maneuver a commercial vehicle in most road situations in a simulated, controlled environment. Hundreds of simulated impeding conditions, obstacles, and malfunctions are included in the training simulator, such as fog, snow, rain, wind, ice, glare, rail crossings, pedestrians, animals, tire blow-outs, brake failure, etc.
Financial Implications
Funding is available through the Field Services Building Construction Project.
