Staff recommends the purchase of two pumper trucks equipped with fully enclosed cabs, 1,500 gallon per minute (GPM) pumps, one with a 750-gallon water tank, one with a 1,000-gallon tank and ladders. The pumper trucks are manufactured by Pierce Manufacturing, Inc., and offered through Siddons Martin Emergency Group, LLC., an approved vendor of BuyBoard Purchasing Cooperative.
The Enforcer pumper is needed for Mesquite Fire Station No. 8. The Velocity pumper allows the on-schedule replacement of the pumper at Fire Station No. 5, in compliance with the Mesquite Fire Department’s Apparatus Replacement Program.
A portion of the balance of the budgeted amount will be used to purchase non-specified loose equipment and radios, and for mounting and installation of the Mobile Data Computer and tools.
Financial Implications
These fire apparatuses will be purchased utilizing 4B funds and Emergency Services fee funds.
