The City of Mesquite is partnering with the City of Crandall to provide wholesale water.  Currently, a water line extends to FM 740 and FM 2757, with an 18-inch line running to Kelly Road via the Polo Ridge development. This line will be extended from Kelly Road along FM 2757 to FM 741, plus an additional 2,700 feet of 12-inch line into Crandall.

The project includes a metering station at FM 2757 and Kaufman County Road 257.  It will consist of installing approximately 11,000 feet of 18-inch transmission line and 5,000 feet of 8-inch distribution line, along with a meter vault and necessary appurtenances.

This project is anticipated to begin in November 2024, and to be completed by July 2025.

Bid notices were broadcast through the Periscope Holdings electronic bidding system, posted on the City’s website, and published in the Daily Commercial Record newspaper.  A total of six responsive bids were received.  Staff has reviewed their qualifications and recommends award of the base bid to BRCT, LLC., dba Black Rock Construction.
