Consider appointment of four Regular Members (Position Nos. 2, 4, 6 and 8) to the Animal Services Advisory Committee for terms to expire December 31, 2026.
Body
Currently, the Animal Services Advisory Committee has one vacancy for a Regular Member (Position No. 6). Regular Members Maria Martinez (Position No. 2), Patti Dawson (Position No. 4) and Karen (Chris) Swain (Position No. 8) are eligible for reappointment and have agreed to serve another term, if appointed. All members serve alternating two-year terms with a limit of three terms.
The Animal Services Advisory Committee is a nine-member board established to review policies of the Mesquite Animal Shelter and Adoption Center, provide guidance to the Animal Services Division in complying with all the provisions of the V.T.C.A. Health and Safety Code, Chapter 823, as amended, and to perform such other duties as may be assigned by the City Council.
