Authorize the City Manager to finalize and execute Change Order No. 1 to Bid No. 2024-013, South Parkway Reconstruction (U.S. Highway 80 to Peachtree Road) Project, with DDM Construction Corporation, for the additional construction scopes in the amount of $219,206.21.

Bid No. 2024-013, South Parkway Reconstruction (U.S. Highway 80 to Peachtree Road) Project, was approved by the City Council on November 20, 2023, in the amount of $16,709,550.00. This Change Order will result in an increase of $219,206.21 to the overall construction cost for a total amount of $16,928,756.21.
This change order consists of the following:
• Installation and removal of temporary access road
• Add a 2-foot riser to the manhole due to existing site condition
• Water tie-in modification at Peachtree Road based on the site investigation, the contractor and City staff identified an alternative tie-in location
• Emergency repairs on July 11, 2024 to replace broken water line
• Adjustment to the sanitary sewer manhole rim elevations
Financial Implications
Funding for this project is provided by the Real. Texas. Roads. Street Bond program, Certificates of Obligation (CO) funds, and Drainage Utility District (DUD) funds. Additional Water and Sewer funds are required to cover this change order.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends the City Manager be authorized to execute Change Order No. 1 to Bid No. 2024-013, South Parkway Reconstruction (U.S. Highway 80 to Peachtree Road).
