Title

A resolution supporting the City’s application to the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) 2025 Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside (TA) Call for Projects for Phase I of the North Mesquite Creek Trail (from south of East Glen Boulevard at Parkwood Trail to Mesquite Valley Road).

Body

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) announced the 2025 Transportation Alternatives Program Call for Projects.  General type of projects eligible under the program include on and off-road pedestrian and bicycle facilities, infrastructure projects for improving non-driver access to public transportation and enhanced mobility, improved safety and access to schools, and boulevards and similar multimodal roadways.

The total project construction estimate is $7,991,000.00, with a local match requirement of 20 percent or $1,598,200.00, required by the City.

The 2025 Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) application requires an official funding resolution for project support, a commitment of local match, a commitment to entering into an Advance Funding Agreement with TxDOT (if selected); and a commitment to develop, implement, construct, maintain, manage, and finance the project.
