Consider appointment of four Regular Members (Position Nos. 2, 5, 8 and 11) to the Downtown Development Advisory Board for terms to expire December 31, 2026, and one Regular Member (Position No. 6) for a term to expire December 31, 2024.
Body
Currently, the Downtown Development Advisory Board has one vacancy for Regular Member (Position No. 6). Julie Greer (Position No. 2), Bradley Brandt (Position No. 5), Helen Ethridge (Position No. 8) and Dustin Palmer (Position No. 11) are eligible for reappointment and have agreed to serve another term, if appointed. All members serve alternating three-year terms with a limit of two terms.
The Downtown Development Advisory Board serves as a liaison to the City Council and makes recommendations regarding Downtown Mesquite Development initiatives, makes recommendations to the City Council for incentive programs, reviews applications for City Council-approved incentive programs and recommends action regarding application, monitors programs and activities of the Organization, Promotion, Economic Vitality and Design Committees of the Board, serves as a forum for the exchange of information related to current or future Downtown Mesquite Development programs, and updates City Council of the status of Downtown Mesquite Development progress, as needed.
