Equipment Services’ staff collaborate with departments to review vehicle conditions, maintenance expenditures, downtime, and operational needs. Based on this evaluation, the staff has identified aging units with escalating maintenance costs and declining reliability. Twenty-One (21) units were approved for replacement, and two (2) units were approved as Budget Offers in the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Capital Outlay Budget.
The proposed units are three (3) Ford F-250 Service Body Trucks, four (4) Ford F-250 Trucks, one (1) Ford F-250 Cage Body Truck, and fifteen (15) Ford F-150 Trucks. The estimated arrival for the new units is September 2026.

Financial Implications
Fourteen (14) units will be purchased and reimbursed with proceeds from the 2026 bond sale. Seven (7) replacement units, as indicated with an asterisk, and two (2) new units will be purchased with cash in the Solid Waste and Water and Sewer funds.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends Council approval of the purchase through a cooperative purchasing agreement with Silsbee Ford Inc.
