The Eastfield Soccer Complex, located at 3737 Motley Drive, encompasses approximately thirty (30) acres and serves youth and adult soccer leagues, tournaments, and community athletic programs, including the Eastfield College Women’s Soccer Program. After years of heavy play and weather‑related wear, several fields have experienced turf loss, uneven grading, and compaction issues that affect both playability and safety.

A renovation project was developed to restore five (5) fields, representing roughly 8.61 acres of the complex. The scope includes scalping the existing turf, laser grading to re-establish proper crown and drainage, and installing new turf across all impacted areas. These improvements are necessary to provide a safe, consistent, and high‑quality playing surface that meets current standards and helps reduce ongoing maintenance needs and weather-related cancellations.

This type of sports turf renovation work, including precision laser grading and large-scale turf installation, requires specialized techniques and equipment typically provided by professional turf contractors to ensure the work is completed accurately and to industry standards. Bid documents were distributed to vendors through the Bidnet Direct electronic procurement system, and an Advertisement for Request for Proposal (RFP) was published in the Daily Commercial Record newspaper. Ten proposals were received. The selection committee evaluated responses using Best Value criteria, which considered price, reputation, quality of work, and the proposer’s ability to meet the needs of the City. DTurfMeister, LLC received the highest score and has demonstrated experience completing similar athletic field renovations for municipal and school district clients.

Work is anticipated to begin in the fall of 2026 and will be coordinated to minimize impacts to scheduled league play.

Financial Implications

Funding for this project is available through the Mesquite 4B Quality of Life Corporation.
