Body

The City of Mesquite and Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) have been sharing funding of a Comprehensive Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) to promote highway safety. The proposed grant will provide funding to reduce the number of motor vehicle related crashes, fatalities, and serious injuries in Texas.

 

The Traffic Safety Grant is a single-year Comprehensive Safety Grant to cover Fiscal Year (FY) 2026-2027. The State will participate in the amount of $52,231.32 to be supplemented by City funds in the amount of $15,356.00.

 

Financial Implications

Funds are available in the FY 2026-27 budget.

 

Recommended/Desired Action

Staff recommends approval of the resolution.
