This contract will assess existing valves on critical water mains to identify valves that are not fully functional so repairs can be prioritized and scheduled. This is a proactive step in the City’s infrastructure management plan and is critical to ensure that City water infrastructure is fully functional so that emergency shutdowns of critical mains can be made quickly and affect the fewest possible customers.
A previous bid for similar services was rejected by the City Council on May 6, 2019.
Bid notices were broadcast through the BidSync electronic bidding system, posted on the City’s website and an Advertisement for Bid was published in the Daily Commercial Record newspaper. A total of two responsive bids were received. This bid was issued as a best value bid and recommendation of award is based on bid amount and quality of company. A committee comprised of three staff members completed the best value evaluation matrix and is recommending Hydromax USA as the best value bidder.
Financial Implications
Funding for this contract is budgeted under the Water/Sewer Funds.
