An ordinance amending Chapter 5 of the City Code thereby adopting the 2024 Edition of the International Building Code (I.B.C.) and providing certain local amendments thereto.
Body
The Building Standards Board (BSB) met on October 21, 2025, and voted to recommend that the City Council adopt the 2024 International Building Code, with amendments. The amendments were reviewed and recommended for adoption by an advisory committee of the North Central Texas Council of Governments and conforms to building practice within the region. Staff, along with the BSB, made every effort to eliminate local amendments that have been determined to be unnecessary.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval of the ordinance.
