An ordinance amending Chapter 5 of the City Code, by repealing and replacing Chapter 5, Article X (Fuel Gas Code) in its entirety thereby adopting the 2024 Edition of the International Fuel Gas Code (I.F.G.C.) and providing certain local amendments thereto.
Body
The Building Standards Board (BSB) met on March 17, 2026, and voted to recommend that the City Council adopt the 2024 Edition of the International Fuel Gas Code (I.F.G.C.), with amendments. The amendments were reviewed and recommended for adoption by an advisory committee of the North Central Texas Council of Governments and conform to building practices within the region. Staff, along with the BSB, made every effort to eliminate local amendments that have been determined to be unnecessary.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval of the ordinance.
