Staff recommends the purchase of two pumper trucks equipped with fully enclosed cabs, 1,500 gallon per minute (GPM) pumps, 750-gallon water tanks and ladders. The pumper trucks are manufactured by Pierce Manufacturing, Inc., and offered through Siddons Martin Emergency Group, LLC., an approved vendor of HGAC Buy.
These apparatuses are being ordered with delivery anticipated in 12-13 months, allowing on-schedule replacement of the pumpers at Fire Station 3 and Fire Station 4, in compliance with the Mesquite Fire Department’s Apparatus Replacement Program. A similar order placed later in the year is currently projected by the manufacturer to have a lead time of 18-24 months.
A portion of the balance of the budgeted amount will be used to buy non-specified loose equipment and radios, and for mounting and installation of the Mobile Data Computer and tools.
Financial Implications
These fire apparatuses will be purchased utilizing capital budget funds.
