During the Pre-Meeting, representatives from Barker, Rinker, and Seacat Architecture (BRS) will present a summary report on the Recreation Center Feasibility Study.
In the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan completed in November of 2022, residents ranked a new recreation center in South Mesquite as the 5th highest priority among 20 identified needs. In May 2025, City Council approved conducting a Recreation Center Feasibility Study as part of ongoing efforts to enhance residents’ quality of life and support the City’s growing population.
BRS representatives have worked closely with an executive steering committee to identify gaps in current recreation services and assess the need for a new recreation center. The summary report will outline recommendations for City Council to consider when planning the next generation of recreation services.
