Ratification of the total expenditure of $259,085.00, without competitive bidding, for the emergency repair of the aerial sewer line that serves 2482 Pioneer Road and authorizing payment to ANA Site Construction, LLC for such repairs.
Body
On or about June 27, 2025, the 16-inch aerial sewer line at 2482 Pioneer Road failed. The extensive repair required immediate action. Therefore, City of Mesquite hired ANA Site Construction, LLC for the emergency repair.
This sewer line replacement also met the exemption requirements for emergency projects under Section 252.022(a)(2) of the Texas Local Government Code, “a procurement necessary to preserve or protect the public health or safety of the municipalities residents.”
Financial Implications
The City’s cost of $259,085.00 was paid out of the Water & Sewer fund balance.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval of the ratification.
