In 2021, the City made an operational change to assume responsibility for the landscaping maintenance of medians and right-of-ways, which required hiring additional Parks staff. With the recent labor shortage challenges, the Parks Division has not been able to employ the required number of staff. To supplement the on-going landscaping needs, the City will utilize an outside contractor for the mowing and trash collection of various city medians, and right-of-ways.
Greener Pastures Landscaping, LLC dba Yellowstone Landscape - Central, Inc., has provided a cost of $45 per square foot through Choice Partners Cooperative Contract No. 20/030MR-04. The term of this contract is for one year, with one additional one-year renewal option. Yellowstone was the previous contractor for this service and is familiar with the City’s requirements. They also currently maintain the contract for Annual Landscaping Maintenance of the TxDOT High Visibility Interchanges.
Financial Implications
Funding is allocated in the Park Services operating budget.
