Bid No. 2023-029, Faithon P. Lucas, Sr. Boulevard Paving and Drainage Reconstruction Project (McKenzie Road to East Cartwright Road), with Zachry Construction Corporation, was approved by the City Council on June 20, 2023, in the amount of $25,528,996.60. Previous change orders were added to this contract as follows:

This change order was necessitated by an increase in the quantity of concrete riprap to 450 square yards to provide additional slope protection at the bridge.
The cumulative increase to the contract amount represents 1.62% of the original contract value, which remains well within acceptable limits. The total contract amount, as well as the City’s overall budgeted amount for the project, continues to remain below the original engineer’s estimate.
Financial Implications
Funding for this Change Order is provided by Drainage Utility District cash projects fund.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends the City Manager be authorized to execute Change Order No. 12 to 2023-029, Faithon P. Lucas, Sr. Boulevard Paving and Drainage Reconstruction Project (McKenzie Road to East Cartwright Road).
