An ordinance amending Chapter 16 of the City Code to adopt a revised 2024 Water Conservation, and Water Resource and Emergency Management Plan as required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and Texas Water Development Board.
Body
The Water Conservation Plan and Drought Contingency and Emergency Management Plan ordinance was adopted in 1999 and revised in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2011, 2014, 2015, and 2019. In conjunction with the North Texas Municipal Water District and member cities, staff has prepared a revised Water Conservation Plan and a Drought Contingency and Emergency Management Plan. City Council was briefed on the proposed changes to the plans and a public hearing was conducted on April 15, 2024.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval of the ordinance.
