Title

A resolution authorizing the City Manager to finalize and execute an Interlocal Agreement with the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) for the period from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2029, thereby authorizing the City of Mesquite’s participation in the Regional Storm Water Management Program and approving the City’s Fiscal Year 2025 cost share amount in the program not to exceed $7,100.00.

Body

The City was issued a Storm Water Permit by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) effective October 24, 2017.  The permit is the fifth five-year term storm water permit the City has received.  The permit requires an extensive Storm Water Management Program.  As part of the permit, the City committed to continued participation in the Regional Storm Water Management Program.  NCTCOG bases the cost share amount on the population of the city.  In fiscal year 2024, the City of Mesquite’s population was 155,382.  The amount for this population tier for fiscal year 2025 shall be in the amount of $7,100.00.

Financial Implications

Funding for this program is allocated in the FY 2025 Drainage Utility District budget.
