Three units were approved in the Fiscal Year 2020-21 Capital Outlay Budget. These purchases were approved by Council on May 03, 2021.
Due to the availability issues created by the steel and electronic chip crisis, the three units previously approved were cancelled by the vendor. One of three rear loaders was purchased from Bond Equipment with 2020-21 funds leaving a balance of $261,728.00.
Staff has located a new vendor with limited stock of solid waste equipment. With price increases, staff is requesting to reallocate the remaining 2020-21 Capital Outlay in combination with the 2021-22 Capital Outlay to purchase these two units.

2022 Peterbilt 20 Yard Rear Loader
Financial Implications
Two units will be purchased by Solid Waste, funded through the FY 2020-2021 and FY2021-22 Capital Outlay Budget. The remaining budgeted amount will be used to upfit with required accessories.

Staff recommends award to Rush Truck Centers of Texas LP.
