Staff recommends the purchase of one platform ladder truck equipped with a fully enclosed cab, a 2,000-gallon per minute (GPM) pump, a 300-gallon water tank and a 100-foot mid-mount ladder. Pierce Manufacturing, Inc., is the manufacturer and is represented by Siddons-Martin Emergency Group, LLC, of Appleton, Wisconsin.
The Fire Department’s Apparatus Committee recommends the purchase of Pierce Manufacturing, Inc., based on its performance. This ladder truck will replace Unit No. 1100010, which was purchased by the Fire Department in 2011 and is now due for replacement in compliance with the Fire Department’s Apparatus Replacement Program. Staff anticipates delivery in August 2023, according to the letter of intent.
Financial Implications
Pricing and delivery schedule for this ladder truck were secured with the manufacturer in January 2022 via letter of intent, and the purchase of this ladder truck was approved in the Fiscal Year 2022-23 Capital Budget. A portion of the balance of the budgeted amount will be used for additional loose equipment, radios, and radio mount. The Mobile Data Computer and tools are not included in this bid.
