Staff has identified Southern Tire Mart, LLC for the purchase of Firestone auto, truck, ambulance and industrial tires, through BuyBoard Contract No. 729-24, for the best pricing. This contract includes tires for vehicles and equipment used at the City (sedans, light-duty trucks, ambulances, Police vehicles and Solid Waste transfer trucks). Southern Tire Mart, LLC is offering the City additional discounts from the BuyBoard pricing. The City will receive discounts ranging from 37-65 percent from the list price as shown on the attached discounted pricing list. The term of this contract is for a one-year period with two additional one-year renewal options. The City Manager is authorized to exercise the renewal options, subject to annual appropriation of sufficient funds.
Financial Implications
Funding is available in the Fiscal Year 2023-24 annual budget in the Warehouse Division of Finance. The purchase of tires is facilitated by Warehouse operations through the inventory system on an as-needed basis.
