Title

RFQ No. 2025-043 - Project Management Services for the Renovation of Multiple City Facilities.

(Authorize the City Manager to finalize and execute a contract with Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT), Inc., for project management services in connection with the design and remodel of the two newly acquired Dallas County buildings and the Mesquite Convention Center in an amount not to exceed $535,566.00, inclusive of reimbursables.)

Body

In November 2024, the City of Mesquite released a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to qualify prospective project management companies to assist the City in managing the remodels of (1) the two newly acquired Dallas County buildings located at 823 North Galloway Avenue and 210 West Grubb Drive, and (2) the Mesquite Convention Center.  Bid notices were broadcast through the BidNet Direct electronic procurement system, posted on the City’s website and an advertisement for bid was published in the Daily Commercial Records newspaper.  Seven project management firms responded to the RFQ and three were selected for interviews.

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson, Inc., was identified by Staff to provide professional services to assist the City in the management of the design and remodel of the two newly acquired Dallas County buildings and Mesquite Convention Center projects.  This firm will act as the City’s advocate throughout the process and provide services from the design phase through project close out.

Financial Implications

Fees will be paid from the individual project capital budgets.

Recommended/Desired Action

Staff recommends the City Manager be authorized to finalize and execute a contract with Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson.
