Brown Reynolds Watford Architects, Inc., submitted a proposal for professional architectural services for the design of the new Fire Station No. 8. The general scope includes locating the buildings on the City-owned site, developing conceptual designs for the new fire station, working with the owner’s representative and the Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) through the design and development phase of the projects, developing final construction documents and representing the City during the construction process. The base fee for the contract is $1,272,400.00 with additional fees for professional services such as third-party commissioning, peer review, environmental and hazardous material testing, platting/zoning amendment/PD legal description, easement abandonment and/or dedication, and furniture/fitness and storage equipment services.
Financial Implications
Funding will be provided by bond funds in project B0057 for the new Fire Station 8 project.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends the City Manager be authorized to finalize and execute a contract with Brown Reynolds Watford Architects, Inc.
