Authorize the City Manager to finalize and execute Amendment No. 5 to the 2017 Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project, Phase 2, with Binkley & Barfield, Inc., for additional design and preparation of construction documents in an amount not to exceed $20,157.50.

On April 17, 2017, the City Council approved a contract for the preparation of construction plans and specifications for the 2017 Sanitary Sewer Project - Phase 2 in the amount of $286,950.00. This design included the sewer replacement in Flamingo Way and Bahamas Drive within Town East Estates and the design of the Bennett Branch 15-inch trunk main from Beltline Road to Paza Drive.
Amendment No. 1 was executed by the City Manager on October 25, 2017, for additional design and construction document preparation for the Viva Drive sanitary sewer replacement in the amount of $24,900.00, necessary for the Real. Texas. Roads. Project constructed in 2018.
Amendment No. 2 was approved by City Council on July 1, 2019, in the amount of $141,000.00 for design services for the Lake Park Addition streets of Kathy Drive, Majors Drive and Riggs Circle, which was constructed in 2020.
Amendment No. 3 was approved by City Council on February 1, 2021, in the amount of $67,500.00 for additional survey and design services for an existing 10-inch sewer line along Tosch Lake. The existing line runs along the lake and in a few locations runs under the lake. This causes lake water to infiltrate into the sewer pipe.
Amendment No. 4 was approved by City Council on June 20, 2023, in the amount of $36,500.00, for additional design services for the Tosch Lake sanitary sewer, as well as sanitary sewer replacement segments along Whitehurst Street from the alley east of Lakeview Drive to Tosch Lake. This amendment provided an adjustment in the sewer alignment along the lake and for open-cut replacement of the line due to the proximity of the sewer line to the lake and private improvements.
