Consider appointment of four Regular Members (Position Nos. 1, 3, 5 and 7) to the Mesquite Quality of Life Corporation (MQOLC) Board of Directors for terms to expire December 31, 2027, and one Regular Member (Position No. 2) for a term to expire December 31, 2026, who will also serve on the Mesquite Economic Development Advisory (MEDA) Board.
Body
Currently, the Mesquite Quality of Life Corporation (MQOL) Board of Directors and Mesquite Economic Development Advisory (MEDA) Board have one vacancy for Regular Member (Position No. 2). Regular Members Lisa Theriot (Position No. 1), Gilberto Prado (Position No. 3), Debbie Anderson (Position No. 5) and Ron Ward (Position No. 7) are eligible for reappointment and have agreed to serve another term, if appointed. All members serve alternating two-year terms with a limit of three terms.
The Mesquite Quality of Life Corporation (MQOLC) Board of Directors consists of seven members appointed by the City Council. MQOLC is authorized to study and fund permissible projects, limited to Transportation, Public Safety and Public Parks and Recreation.
The Mesquite Economic Development Advisory (MEDA) Board consists of the same members of the MQOLC Board of Directors to serve in an advisory capacity regarding Mesquite development initiatives, programs and other economic development related projects.
