Emergency backup generators provide critical power continuity for essential City of Mesquite facilities during utility outages and emergency events.  The proposal provides required annual load-bank testing for 28 generators to verify each unit can safely and reliably operate under simulated demand conditions, in addition to one minor preventative maintenance service and one major preventative maintenance service annually for each generator.  The proposal also includes emergency repair services for specialized repairs or situations requiring outside support beyond the scope of work that can be performed internally by Equipment Services staff.

 

The contract between the City of Mesquite and Clifford Power Systems, Inc., is for a one-year period, with four additional one-year renewal options.

 

Financial Implications

Funding is available in the Equipment Services FY2025-2026 Capital Budget.

 

Recommended/Desired Action

Staff recommends the City Manager be authorized to finalize and execute a contract with Clifford Power Systems, Inc.
