An ordinance providing for the conditional abandonment of three sanitary sewer easements in and around North Mesquite Drive, Town East Boulevard and North Mesquite High School.
Body
A representative of the Mesquite Independent School District has requested the abandonment of three sanitary sewer easements at North Mesquite High School and adjacent retail properties, otherwise known as North Mesquite High School, Block A, Lot 1. (See attached legal description and sketches.)
Research of the Dallas County land records indicates that the sanitary sewer easements were dedicated by separate instrument and by plat for the construction of three sanitary sewer mains. The sanitary sewer mains that are located within the easements have been abandoned, new replacement sanitary sewer mains have been constructed and new easements are in the process of being dedicated. Additional easements are being dedicated by plat for access easements, sanitary sewer easements and water easements. The square footage of the new easements will exceed the square footage of the sanitary sewer easements being abandoned. The sanitary sewer easements shall be abandoned on the condition that new easements necessary for the relocated sanitary sewer mains be dedicated.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval of the ordinance.
