The proposed excavator was evaluated for replacement by Equipment Services, and based on maintenance and repair costs, hours, overall condition of the unit, and with the concurrence of the Department Director, a recommendation was made for replacement. The excavator is assigned to the Streets Division and was approved in the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Capital Outlay Budget.

Staff has located one excavator to replace a unit with high hours and maintenance costs. The new unit's estimated arrival date is November 2024.
Financial Implications
Funding is available through the Capital Outlay Budget, with all remaining funds being used to purchase residual approved equipment.
