The Microsoft Business and Service Agreements (DIR-CPO-5237) allow the City of Mesquite to acquire Microsoft Enterprise software as needed and perform a true-up (audit) on an annual basis. This eliminates the need for ordering software for each new server installation and reduces the amount of paperwork required to track licensing and compliance. Additionally, the Agreement provides support for Microsoft products. Office 365 and Azure licensing is based on the number of employees that require access to the cloud services and the SQL Server, and Windows Datacenter licensing is based on the number of servers running the software. SHI/Government Solutions, Inc., has provided a quote for license and maintenance renewals through the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) Contract No. DIR-CPO-5237.

Financial Implications

Funding is available in the IT Annual Operating Budget.
