Title

An ordinance establishing the classifications and total number of authorized positions in each classification of the Mesquite Police Department as of May 1, 2026.

 

Body

The City Council reviews and approves the number of civil service positions/ranks in the Mesquite Police Department (MPD).

 

Attached is an ordinance for Council’s consideration regarding the MPD’s authorized positions for Fiscal Year 2025-26. These numbers have been reviewed and confirmed as accurate with the MPD and Budget Department. This year’s ordinance also includes a provision authorizing the City Manager to hire five (5) additional Police Officers over the authorized amount, as staffing may require.
