Consider appointment of one Regular Member (Position No. 4) to the Youth Advisory Board for a term to expire December 31, 2026, and one Regular Member (Position No. 7) for a term to expire December 31, 2027.
Body
Currently, there are two vacancies on the Youth Advisory Board, Position No. 4 (Representative from the business community) and Position No. 7 (Any resident of the City).
The Youth Advisory Board serves as a vital connection between the City Council, City staff, and Mesquite's youth ensuring that young residents have a voice in civic engagement and community programming.
This board:
* Serves as a liaison to the City Council and make recommendations regarding Mesquite Youth Council initiatives.
* Provides recommendations to the City Council on youth-focused programs and policies.
* Monitors and evaluates City programming related to youth and suggest enhancements.
* Acts as a forum for exchanging information related to current and future Mesquite Youth Council programs.
* Updates the City Council on the status of Mesquite Youth Council initiatives as needed.
