Authorize the Fire Chief’s execution of Amendment No 1 to the original executed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) approved by Council April 15, 2024, between the City of Mesquite Fire Department and Texas A&M Engineering Service (TEEX).
Body
The purpose of this Amendment is to delete Section XI of the original MOU and replace it with a newly revised Section XI, which would allow the City of Mesquite to be reimbursed by TEEX for any costs and expenses paid by the City of Mesquite to the city’s employee, including but not limited to, all related medical expenses, compensation, wages, pension contributions, and any benefits provided by the Employer if the Member becomes injured during any period in which Texas Task Force 1 (TX-TF1) is activated by the State, or during any Task Force Sponsored Training.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval to authorize the Fire Chief’s execution of Amendment No. 1 to the original MOU.
