Ratification of the total expenditure of $486,559.00, without competitive bidding, for the emergency repair of the sewer line that serves 1919 Brandy Station and authorizing payment to ANA Site Construction, LLC for such repairs.
Body
On or about March 4, 2025, the 33-inch sewer main under 1919 Brandy Station collapsed. The repair was too extensive for the City of Mesquite to handle internally. Therefore, City of Mesquite hired ANA Site Construction, LLC for the emergency repair.
This sewer line replacement also met the exemption requirements for emergency projects under Section 252.022(a)(2) of the Texas Local Government Code, “a procurement necessary to preserve or protect the public health or safety of the municipalities residents.”
Financial Implications
The City’s cost of $486,559 was paid out of the Water & Sewer fund balance.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval of the ratification.
