Staff has identified The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for the purchase of Goodyear auto, truck and industrial tires, through BuyBoard Contract No. 729-24, for the best pricing. This contract includes tires for vehicles and equipment used at the City (sedans, trucks, Police vehicles and Solid Waste trucks). The City receives a minimum discount of 47 percent from the list price; however, the discount is often greater than the 47 percent as shown on the attached price list with the five most ordered items highlighted. The term of this contract is for a one-year period with two additional one-year renewal options. The City Manager is authorized to exercise the renewal options, subject to annual appropriation of sufficient funds.
Financial Implications
Funding is available in the Fiscal Year 2023-24 annual budget in the Warehouse Division of Finance. The purchase of tires is facilitated by Warehouse operations through the inventory system on an as-needed basis.
