Title

Ratification of Change Order No. 3 to Bid No. 2022-067, Skyline Drive Paving and Drainage Reconstruction (Town East Boulevard to Peachtree Road). 

(Staff recommends ratification of Change Order No. 3 with McMahon Contracting, LP in the amount of $68,759.66 and to authorize the City Manager to finalize and execute all documents necessary to complete the ratification.)

 

Body

The City Council approved Bid No. 2022-067, Skyline Drive Paving and Drainage Reconstruction (Town East Boulevard to Peachtree Road), with McMahon Contracting, LP on December 19, 2022, in the amount of $12,317,502.00.

 

                     Change Order No. 1 was in the amount of $823.75 to add a temporary signal at Skyline Drive and Peachtree Road; and to decrease the amount of sodding for areas that did not require it.

 

                     Change Order No. 2 was in the amount of $26,776.20 to add 33-each street light pole foundations and slotted drains; and to replace chain link fence with the Orange Safety Fence for a lesser amount.  An additional 17 calendar days were added.

 

                     Change Order No. 3 increased the amount by $132,865.66 to add wrought iron fencing, red tips with irrigation, and relocate a fire hydrant.  The change order also decreases the contract in the amount of $64,106.00 for items no longer necessary for the reconstruction.  The total of the change order is $68,759.66.  An additional sixteen (16) calendar days will be added to this contract for the additional work required.

 

The revised contract amount is $12,413,861.61.

 

Financial Implications

The project is funded by General Obligation bond sales (reimbursed by Town East/Skyline TIRZ No. 9) and Water/Sewer Bond sales.

 

Recommended/Desired Action

Staff recommends ratification of Change Order No. 3 Bid No. 2022-067, Skyline Drive Paving and Drainage Reconstruction (Town East Boulevard to Peachtree Road).
