Authorize the Mesquite Fire Department’s participation in the Texas Task Force 1 and 2, approve the Texas Task Force Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of Mesquite and Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), and authorize the Fire Chief’s execution of the MOU.

 

Body

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishes and defines a partnership between the City of Mesquite Fire Department and Texas A&M Engineering Service (TEEX).  The purpose of the MOU is to delineate responsibilities and procedures for Urban Search and Rescue activities under the authority of the State of Texas Emergency Management Plan.

 

Recommended/Desired Action

Staff recommends approval of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and authorize the Fire Chief’s execution of the MOU.
