This bid provides material for the Streets Division asphalt crews' annual routine maintenance, repair, and rehabilitation of City streets and alleys.

 

This annual contract begins with the notice to proceed date and expires one calendar year from that date. The contract also includes four renewal options to extend the contract for additional one-year periods, renewable on the yearly anniversary of the notice to proceed date of the original contract, provided that both parties, the contractor and the City, are in mutual agreement and execute a renewal in writing and signed by both parties.

 

Bid notices were broadcast through the BidNet Direct electronic procurement system, posted on the City’s website, and an Advertisement for bid was published in the Daily Commercial Record newspaper. Four responsive bids were received. Staff has reviewed their qualifications and recommends awarding the base bid to Austin Asphalt, Inc.

 

Financial Implications

Funding for the contract is budgeted through the General Funds for Street and Alley Maintenance of Infrastructure.

 

Recommended/Desired Action

Staff recommends that the City Manager be authorized to finalize and execute a contract with the low bidder, Austin Asphalt, Inc.
