(Authorize the City Manager to finalize and execute a contract with Brown Reynolds Watford Architects, Inc., for services in connection with the scoping and design for the remodel of two newly acquired facilities located at 823 North Galloway Avenue and 210 West Grubb Drive, Mesquite, Texas 75149, in an amount not to exceed $479,000.00.)

Brown Reynolds Watford Architects, Inc. (BRW), submitted a proposal for professional architectural and engineering services for the scoping and design for the remodel of the two Dallas County buildings recently acquired by the City of Mesquite.  The general scope includes schematic design with a construction cost estimate, working with the owner’s representative and Construction Manager at Risk (CMaR) through the design development phase of the project, development of construction documents, assisting the CMaR with the bidding of the project, and representing the City during the construction process.  The base fee is $469,000.00 with $10,000.00 added as an allowance for reimbursable expenses.       

 

Financial Implications

Funding will be provided by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.

 

Recommended/Desired Action

Staff recommends the City Manager be authorized to finalize and execute a contract with Brown Reynolds Watford Architects, Inc.
