Southwest International Trucks, Inc., is the vendor for the 2010-2012 year model medium and heavy-duty trucks that the City has previously purchased. Staff has verified that all four International dealerships within 50 miles are owned and named Southwest International Trucks, Inc. Therefore, staff is unable to receive competitive bids for repairs after the warranty has expired for these trucks.
Financial Implications
Funding is available in the FY 2017-18 annual budget in the Equipment Services Division of Public Works for Vehicle Parts. The current available balance is $1,676,000.00. The remaining budgeted amount will cover vehicle parts purchased throughout FY 2017-18.
