Bid documents were broadcast on the BidSync electronic bidding system, an Advertisement for Bid notice was published in Daily Commercial Record newspaper and posted on the City’s website. Three bids were received.
The bid document was designed in a “Best Value” format. Three panel members evaluated the bids and determined that the best value bid was provided by low bidder Southlake Landscaping and Maintenance, Inc., in the amount of $143,250.00. Southlake Landscaping and Maintenance, Inc., is also the current contractor.
There is a $9,740.00 increase in the bid amount over last year. This is due to additional trees, ground cover and perennial beds installed to enhance the beautification of the medians in 2016. The shortfall will be made up through savings in other contracts within this project string.
