The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishes and defines a partnership between the Mesquite Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms, and Explosives for an ATF National Integrated Ballistic Information Network (NIBIN) system installation. The MOU outlines the operation and administration of the collection, analysis, and dissemination of gun crime data to enhance the efforts of law enforcement. The integration of these resources will help reduce firearms violence, identify shooters, and refer them for prosecution.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval of the MOU and authorize the Chief of Police to execute the MOU.
