Authorize the City Manager to finalize and execute Amendment No. 1 to RFQ No. 2025-051, Architectural Design Services for the Design and Construction of the new Police Training Facility and Gun Range at the Public Safety Training Center, with Brown Reynolds Watford Architects, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $775,000.00.
Body
On April 6, 2026, the City Council approved an Architectural Design Contract for the design and construction of a new police training facility and gun range in the amount of $1,566,400.00. During the initial scope development of the project and the effort to meet the current and future needs of the Police Department for training of new and existing officers, it was determined that the size of the facility and the complexity of construction would require additional design services.
Amendment No. 1 in the amount of $775,000.00 will include the design of a 50-yard gun range with sixteen shooting stations, a 100-yard gun range with four shooting stations, an indoor tactical training area, a virtual training area, classrooms, offices and other storage and administrative areas. The estimated cost of the new facility will be approximately $25,000,000.00.
The total contract amount, including Amendment No. 1, will be $2,341,400.00.
Financial Implications
This project is budgeted in the General Fund Capital Projects.

Staff recommends the City Manager be authorized to finalize and execute Amendment No. 1 to RFQ No. 2025-051, Architectural Design Services for the Design and Construction of the new Police Training Facility and Gun Range at the Public Safety Training Center.
