Title

Consider a resolution approving the Mesquite Quality of Life Corporation’s (MQOLC) mid-year amended budget for Fiscal Year 2025-26.

Body

The Mesquite Quality of Life Corporation (MQOLC) budget for Fiscal Year 2025-26 was adopted by the MQOLC Board of Directors on May 28, 2025, and approved by the City Council on June 16, 2025, per Resolution No. 20-2025.  Because changes in revenue estimates and expenditures often occur throughout the year, amending the adopted budget to account for significant changes in revenues and expenditures is a common best practice in local government finance.

The following expenditures are included in the proposed amended budget:

Traffic Signal Maintenance                     $300,000.00

Scyene Road Railway Signal                     $970,000.00

Mesquite Heritage Trail, Phase 2                     $150,000.00

TOTAL                     $1,420,000.00

All three items are added to the mid-year budget and were previously not included in the Fiscal Year 2025 - 2026 adopted budget.

The total budget expenditure prior to the amended balance was $15,192,481.00, bringing the amended total expenditures to $16,612,481.00.

The MQOLC Board of Directors approved Resolution No. 2026-10 for the Fiscal Year 2025-26 mid-year amended budget at their regular MQOLC meeting on February 25, 2026.
