Body
This Interlocal Agreement is made by and between Dallas County, Texas and the City of Mesquite, Texas. The Dallas County Sheriff's Office operates several jail facilities in conformity with Texas law for the detention of adult inmates. The City of Mesquite has requested the Dallas County Sheriff's Office assume custody of persons arrested by the Mesquite Police Department prior to those persons being taken before a magistrate.
Financial Implications
There are no costs associated with the interlocal agreement.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends that the City Manager be authorized to execute an Interlocal Agreement with Dallas County for Transfer of Custody of Arrested Persons prior to magistration.
