The Brandy Station Park playground, located at 1919 Brandy Station Drive, was originally constructed in the early 2000’s and has surpassed its useful life. The equipment is deteriorating, and replacement parts are difficult to find. The Parks and Recreation Department maintains a playground assessment summary, ranking playgrounds based on age and condition. Brandy Station was ranked in fair condition, indicating the need for replacement. In addition to a new shaded play structure, swings, and spinning features, the safety fall surface will be upgraded to artificial turf, ensuring the area is accessible to all abilities.
The Burke playground design was selected through local supplier, Child’s Play, Inc. which contains a unique custom hillside feature that will unify the two levels of the existing playground. The City has previously used this supplier and manufacturer for several playgrounds. They provide a full turnkey service, including site preparation and installation of the equipment and safety surface.
Child’s Play, Inc., was selected in accordance with the terms of the BuyBoard Purchasing Cooperative Contract No. 781-25, Vendor No.1501. Installation is anticipated to be completed in the Fall of 2026.
